ROBOTICS CLUB
at UC Santa Barbara
ABOUT US
We are Robotics Club at UC Santa Barbara, a student-run organization with several projects currently in motion! Our goal is to inspire people interested in robotics and to give them the skills to succeed in the workplace and with their own projects. We are open to students of all experience levels and majors!

We have two sides to our club: our competitive VEX-U team and our casual projects, such as Battle Bots. In the past, we have also built spider robots and a 3D-printed humanoid robot! We hope to bring more projects to UCSB in the future and are always looking for motivated members to join!

Build-A-Bot
We are currently offering a Build-a-Bot after school enrichment program that introduces students to how real robots are powered and move. Each week, students explore an element of a humanoid robot through safe, age-appropriate engineering challenges, including introductory circuits, water-powered hydraulics, air-powered fans, and mechanical systems that store and release energy. Working in small teams, students design, build, and test robotic mechanisms using syringes, circuit components, DC motors, LED’s, and everyday materials. Along the way, they practice problem- solving, teamwork, and creative thinking while learning how engineers use elemental forces to build robots for farming, competitions, and research. Led by members of the UCSB Robotics Club, this course emphasizes hands-on learning, safety, and imagination. No prior experience is required, and all materials are provided.
